About
Our School
Anna Adarsh Matriculation Higher Secondary School was started in the year 1985, in memory of Arignar Anna, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The foundation stone was laid by Late H E Giani Zail Singh, the former President of India in the year 1982. The school is situated in a sprawling campus promoting a conducive education in a salubrious atmosphere. The school caters to the needs of girl children exclusively. English is the medium of instruction and we follow the equitable syllabus up to STD X and State board pattern for higher secondary.
At present, we have around 2,400 students studying from KG to STD XII. The school has an excellent track record in academics, curricular and Co - Curricular activities. Every year, the school has been
producing cent percent results and also state / district ranks in Std X, XI & XII board exam

At Anna Adarsh, we leave no stone unturned to offer multitudes of opportunities to our children; it is for them to make the most of it. Children are motivated to grab every opportunity that comes their way which would not only help in holistic growth but also strengthen their belief in teamwork, which is essential in this fast paced world.

Vision & Mission
Our founder lieutenant-Colonel Gurdial Singh Gill was a great visionary. The Punjab association founded by him has grown leaps and bounds. His mission was to create professionally managed institutions equipped with a well-designed quality management system that empowers all – students, teachers and parents. His mission was to empower students to acquire, demonstrate, articulate and to value knowledge and skills that will support them as lifelong learners, to participate in and contribute globally and also practice the core values of the school.
Adarsh Group of Schools
Adarsh group of schools is managed by The Punjab Association. The Punjab Association owes an irredeemable debt of gratitude to its Founder President, the late Lt.Col. Gurdial Singh Gill and the late General Secretary Shri P.N. Dhawan, who during their unbroken stewardship marked by keen insight, far-sighted vision and crusading spirit, had amazingly built up a stupendous service structure of many actively working units devoted to serve the cause of Education, Medicare, Social Service and Rural Welfare. The idea of Shri P.N. Dhawan at a meet of 5 families on 01.12.1937 to form an Association has miraculously transformed into a major Social Service Organization viz. The Punjab Association.

Dr. Vikram Aggarwal is an accomplished business leader with over 38 years of experience spanning diverse sectors, including garment exports, construction, real estate and hospitality.
He currently serves as the Chairman of Radisson Blu Hotel Chennai City Centre and Park Plaza Chennai OMR, overseeing operations that collectively employ nearly 500 professionals. He is also the promoter of ASTA Properties.
With his extensive industry expertise, entrepreneurial acumen and strategic leadership, Dr. Aggarwal brings valuable experience and perspective to the business community.
RAMESH LAMBA
General Secretary, Punjab Association
Shri Ramesh Lamba, General Secretary, Punjab Association, after education at Coonor involved in fleet business, viz. Prakash Roadlines at George Town, Chennai, and subsequently associated with PAFEX (Prakash Airfreight Express) in collaboration with International Courier concern viz. FEDEX. After his retirement as Director of the Company in 2008, he fully devotes his time to the activities of the Association and its various units. His association with Punjab Association was very long and he became its active member (Executive Committee Member) in 1991, elevated to the position of Treasurer of the Association during 1996, and elected as the Association’s General Secretary during 2002 and continues as such till date due to his thorough knowledge in administration. Due to his contribution to minority communities, the Government of Tamil Nadu has honoured him with the post of Secretary, Tamil Nadu Minority Commission for a period of three years, sometime back. His mission and vision to work for the downtrodden and minority communities will go a long way.
AJAY BHALLA
Treasurer, Punjab Association
Mr. Ajay Bhalla belongs to a family of early settlers in Chennai from the pre-independence era. An alumnus of Adarsh Vidyalaya, he was inducted into the committee in 1992 and served successfully as Treasurer from 2002 to 2019. He later held the position of Senior Vice President from 2019 to 2023 and has now returned to the post of Treasurer. He also served as Vice President of the Presidency Club. A member of the DAV schools Educational Trust, an Active Round Tabler, Lions Club and Freemason by profession involved in the import of Steel for power project for the state Government and Multinationals.
AMIT BHALLA
Chairman - Education Committee
Mr. Amit Bhalla is a seasoned entrepreneur and business leader with over 25 years of experience in the steel import industry, catering to the requirements of various Government of India undertakings. Over two decades, he has built extensive experience in the steel trade, institutional relationships and business management, while developing a strong understanding of organisational leadership and stakeholder engagement.
He is an alumnus of Loyola College, Chennai, where he completed his B.Sc. in Statistics and subsequently his MBA in Human Resources.
Beyond his professional commitments, Amit has been actively involved in social and community initiatives. He currently serves as Vice President of The Presidency Club, Chennai, and as Chairman of the Education Committee of Adarsh Group of Schools ,The Punjab Association, Chennai. In these roles, he is actively involved in initiatives focused on education, community development and institutional growth.
Amit has also been associated with several social organisations and youth initiatives. He was instrumental in establishing “Odyssey,” a youth organisation inspired by the principles and working model of AIESEC, with a focus on bringing young people together, nurturing leadership, fostering meaningful interaction and creating opportunities for personal and social development.
His journey reflects a strong commitment to business, education, community service, youth development and institutional leadership. He continues to contribute actively to the organisations and communities he is associated with, with a focus on creating meaningful and lasting impact.
